God calls Christians to be providers in 1 Timothy 5:8 and 16. To make it easier to understand what this said when written, I will add, in verse 8, red to words that are female in the Greek, blue to words that are male in Greek, and green to words that are gender-neutral in Greek :
1Ti 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
1Ti 5:16 If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.
Provision is not limited to one gender, and there are no gender-specific words in verse 8, the way God inspired the words in Greek.
To that, we could add the women who travelled with Jesus, providing for him from their own possessions/ money. (Luke 8:1-3) Jesus seemingly had no idea that provision was a biblical manhood role.
