Because Christianity is bigger than Biblical manhood or Biblical womanhood (Blog of Retha Faurie)

Premise 1: Jesus wants God’s kingdom to come on earth as in heaven. (Mat 6:9-10)

Premise 2: Even complementarians admit that before God (in heaven), men and women are equal.

Conclusion A: Christians should work towards treating women as equals on earth.

Premise 3: Hierarchy is not equality on earth. “Women should submit, and men should have all the leadership roles” is not equality on earth.

Conclusion B (from Conclusion A and Premise 3): Christians should work to end one-sided female submission and excuses that keep gifted women out of leadership.

As we say sometimes here in the U.S.–Duh! Thank you for posting this, Retha! I’ve been thinking for so long that this is a simple matter, and wondered how many people see this, too. I’m glad to see you mention it because your voice is louder than mine 🙂 .
